able to fill cracks in well wall, inhibit the dispersion of hydrated mud shale and effectively prevent the well wall from peeling and collapse.
With proper softening point and thermal steadiness it’s effective in reducing high temperature high pressure filtration loss and in sealing.
With surfactant it’s effective in reducing friction resistance between drilling tool and wall well to reduce occurrence of stuck drill.
With good oil solubility it is easy to enter oil-bearing formation, able to protect the well wall without blocking oil-bearing formation.
Generally, the dosage is 0.5~1% of the volume of drilling fluid. When used with easily peeling and leaking well sections the dosage can be increased properly. When leakage is serious it’s better to use together with other blocking agents.
