Fully Refined Paraffin Wax
Melting point: 58-60°C
CAS NO. :8002-74-2
Paraffin waxes are separated from crude oil during the production of light (distillate) lubricating oils. The categorization of each wax corresponds to degree of wax refinement, and the various steps are as follows: slack wax, scale wax, semi refined paraffin wax, and finally fully refined paraffin wax. Paraffin wax is colourless or white, somewhat translucent, hard wax obtained from petroleum during refining by dewaxing light lubricating oil. Paraffin wax is an extremely good electrical insulator and is insoluble in water.
